Surprisingly, I am not the instant world-wide cello playing sensation that some would have expected of me.
When I first started playing, 20 minutes daily seemed sometimes like a very long time. I would swear that the next time I looked down, there would be blood pouring from my left fingertips and my right shoulder would be entirely detached from my body. Lately it seems that 20 minutes goes by in a blur. Often, my first notice of the clock during my practice sessions reveals that 40 minutes have already passed.
Now if I could only figure out how to keep my rosin covered fingers out of my eyes, I could continue to read music for longer than 40 minutes.

Thank you for the update on your playing, although I still haven't heard the Jaws theme on my answering machine.
I always wondered what ROSIN was and your little link thing to Wickpedia was cool and I learned not just a single fact but a whole range of facts regarding rosin coming from conifers and such and that in addition to creating friction on stringed instruments, it is also used in solder. Wow.
Now, about those rings around your eyes . . . should I be calling for a domestic violence investigation?!
